Discard aspects of Buddhism?

“Everytime you choose to discard aspects of Buddhism that do not suit your current needs, essential things like karma, rebirth, ethics and altruism or choose to not support people who genuinely aspire to live as the Buddha did and practice full time, creating a full four fold sangha (lay people and monastics), you are changing the face of Buddhism forever and the complete path is in danger of being lost to the fad of the moment. Buddhism is a radical transformation of the heart. It should tear apart your ego, not make it more comfortable. Monastics are a communal resource. Altruism is an essential need of the hour. Surely Buddhism can do more for the future than teach people to feel at peace in the cage of ignorance we have created for ourselves.’ – Ayya Yeshe facebook – Bodhicitta Socially Engaged Buddhist Community
