This is Varsha (2nd from left) and her daughter (1st left). Varsha was married at 17 to a man who beats her to unconsciousness and is a heavy drinker. Varsha has four daughters. She works as a maid for poverty wages.
Bodhicitta Foundation gave Varsha her first ever holiday to go on pilgrimage and trained her in beauty therapy. She is not ready to leave her husband, but she says the pilgrimage and job training have given her relief from a horrible life and the ability to increase her income.
